Custom Windows Lock Screen Wallpapers

Setting one as your lock screen

• Download the image you want from the collection below.
• Go to Settings > Personalization > Lock screen.
• Under Personalize your lock screen, choose Picture, then Browse photos and select the image you downloaded.

Getting the best result

For the sharpest result on a modern high-resolution or high-DPI display, pick the wallpaper closest to your screen’s native resolution rather than the largest file available — Windows scales the image to fill the lock screen regardless of source size, so an oversized image doesn’t look any sharper, it just takes longer to load on sign-in. If you use multiple monitors, note that the lock screen only ever displays on one screen at a time (your primary display), so there’s no need to source ultra-wide or multi-monitor wallpapers specifically for this purpose.

Windows Spotlight as a built-in alternative

If you’d rather not manage wallpapers manually, Windows’ own Windows Spotlight option (also under Personalization > Lock screen) rotates in a curated set of professional photography automatically, refreshed periodically by Microsoft, with zero setup beyond selecting it once. It’s a solid default if you want variety without maintaining a folder of images yourself — the gallery below is aimed more at people who want a specific look (a particular game, landscape, or theme) rather than a random rotation.
