This policy covers the ErrorGeek browser extension, made by TechyGeeksHome.
What ErrorGeek collects
Nothing. ErrorGeek does not collect, store, sell or share any personal information. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.
How it works
- The full list of Windows error codes is built into the extension, so every lookup happens on your own computer.
- It does nothing in the background while you browse. It cannot read or change any website.
- When you right-click selected text and choose Look up error code, the browser passes only that selected text to ErrorGeek.
- Nothing is sent to TechyGeeksHome or to any other third party. The search links only open a page if you click them.
What is stored on your computer
ErrorGeek keeps a short list of your recent lookups so you can open them again. This stays in your browser’s local extension storage and is never transmitted anywhere. You can clear it from the popup, and removing the extension deletes it.
Permissions
- contextMenus: adds Look up error code to the right-click menu when you select text.
- storage: keeps your list of recent lookups.
- No access to any website, no content scripts and no remote code.
