This policy covers the Country Filter for X browser extension, made by TechyGeeksHome.
What Country Filter for X collects
Nothing. Country Filter for X does not collect, sell or share any personal information. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no servers of its own.
How it works
- It runs only on x.com and twitter.com.
- It asks x.com for the “About this account” details (where an account is based, and the app store it connected from) of accounts whose posts are on your screen, using your own signed-in session.
- It hides or blurs posts in your browser based on the places you choose.
- When you click Block on the Collected accounts page, it asks x.com to block that account on your X account. It never blocks anyone on its own.
- Nothing is sent to TechyGeeksHome or to any other third party.
What is stored on your computer
Country Filter for X keeps your settings, a list of the accounts it has checked (handle, display name, where X says the account is based, the app store it connected from, when it was checked, and whether you blocked it from the extension) and counts of filtered posts per location, in your browser’s extension storage. Checked accounts expire after 30 days. None of it is transmitted anywhere, and removing the extension deletes it.
Permissions
- storage: remembers your settings, the accounts it has checked and the filter counts.
- Access to x.com and twitter.com: reads the posts on the page to hide or blur them, looks up where authors are based from x.com, and blocks an account when you click Block.
