If you signed up to TikTok Shop for Creator, your profile gets a Showcase where you can add other sellers’ products and earn commission on them. If you no longer want that, you can switch it off, but TikTok does not make the option easy to find. It is not in the normal TikTok settings, and it is not in the Creator Center account menu either.
This guide shows you exactly where it is.
Note: this is about the creator (affiliate) side of TikTok Shop. If you run your own shop as a seller, closing it is done in Seller Center instead.
Where the deactivate option hides
Most guides tell you to go to TikTok Shop for Creator and tap the settings gear. When you do, you get a “Your account” menu with options like Your contact information, Partnerships, Privacy settings and Help centre. There is no Deactivate button anywhere on it.
The option is actually inside the Help centre, in an article about deactivating your account.
Step by step on the TikTok app
- Open TikTok and tap Profile at the bottom right.
- Tap the menu (three lines) at the top right, then tap TikTok Studio.
- Tap TikTok Shop for Creator.
- Tap the settings gear on your profile picture at the top of the Creator Center.
- In the “Your account” menu, tap Help centre.
- Tap the search bar and type deactivate.
- Open the article about deactivating your TikTok Shop creator account.
- Tap the Deactivate link inside the article.
- Choose a reason, tap Continue, then Confirm.
- Tap Send request, then Deactivate to finish.
Once it is done, the Showcase and product links are removed from your profile and videos, and you stop earning commission. Your TikTok account itself stays active and nothing else changes.
Tip: check for any pending commission before you start, so you are not waiting on money from an account you have just closed.
If your account health is Critical
At the top of the Creator Center you will see your account health. If it says Critical, TikTok may stop you deactivating until the problem is cleared.
- Tap Critical to see what has been flagged and deal with it.
- If you still cannot deactivate, go back to the “Your account” menu, tap Get creator manager support and ask them to deactivate it for you.
FAQ
Will deactivating TikTok Shop for Creator delete my TikTok account?
No. Only the shop and affiliate features are removed. Your videos, followers and profile stay as they are.
What happens to the products in my Showcase?
They are removed from your profile, and product links come off your videos.
Can I join TikTok Shop for Creator again later?
You can apply again if you meet the eligibility rules at the time, but you will be starting from scratch.
Why can’t I find the deactivate option in settings?
TikTok keeps it in the Help centre rather than in the account menu. Search “deactivate” in the Help centre inside TikTok Shop for Creator.
