This policy covers the PDFGeek browser extension, made by TechyGeeksHome.
What PDFGeek collects
Nothing. PDFGeek does not collect, store, sell or share any personal information. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.
How it works
- PDFGeek opens in its own browser tab. The PDFs and pictures you add are read and written inside that tab, on your computer.
- Your files are never uploaded. PDFGeek has no server, and the finished files are saved with a normal browser download.
- If you right-click a PDF link and choose Open in PDFGeek, it asks for access to that one site and then downloads that one PDF, as your browser would.
- It has no access to the pages you visit, and nothing is sent to TechyGeeksHome or to any other third party.
What is stored on your computer
PDFGeek remembers the last tool you used and your Images to PDF choices (page size, orientation and margins) in your browser’s extension storage. Your files are held only in the tab’s memory while you work on them. None of it is transmitted anywhere, and removing the extension deletes it.
Permissions
- storage: remembers the last tool used and your Images to PDF choices.
- contextMenus: adds Open in PDFGeek to the right-click menu on links to PDF files.
- Optional site access: asked for one site at a time, only when you click Allow and open after choosing Open in PDFGeek on a link, so PDFGeek can download that PDF. Never asked at install.
