This policy covers the Screenshot Saver browser extension, made by TechyGeeksHome.
What Screenshot Saver collects
Nothing. Screenshot Saver does not collect, store, sell or share any personal information. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.
How it works
- It only works on the tab you are on, and only after you click its toolbar button.
- It takes the screenshots with the browser’s own capture feature, scrolls the page to join them, and puts the page back afterwards.
- The picture or PDF is made inside your browser and saved to your Downloads folder, or copied to your clipboard.
- It has no access to any website in the background and no network access of its own.
- Nothing is sent to TechyGeeksHome or to any other third party.
What is stored on your computer
Screenshot Saver keeps your settings (format, PDF page choice, JPG quality and file name pattern) in your browser’s extension storage. It does not keep your screenshots; they are saved only where you save them. Removing the extension deletes its settings.
Permissions
- activeTab: lets it capture and scroll the tab you are on, only after you click its toolbar button.
- scripting: adds the small helper that scrolls the page, hides fixed bars between shots, draws the pick an area box and puts the page back.
- downloads: saves the PNG, JPG or PDF file to your Downloads folder.
- storage: remembers your format, PDF page choice and file name pattern.
- offscreen (Chrome and Edge): a hidden extension page that joins the shots and writes the file.
- clipboardWrite (Firefox): puts the screenshot on the clipboard when you pick Copy.
