This policy covers the PiPGeek browser extension, made by TechyGeeksHome.
What PiPGeek collects
Nothing. PiPGeek does not collect, store, sell or share any personal information. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.
How it works
- It only looks at a page when you click its icon, press its shortcut (Alt+P) or use Pop out video on the right-click menu.
- It finds the video on that page and asks the browser to show it in the browser’s own picture-in-picture window, or to put it back.
- If you turn on Pop out when I switch tabs (Chrome and Edge only), it tells the browser it may float the video out when you leave the tab. Site access for every site is asked for only if you also tick Do this on every site.
- Nothing is sent to TechyGeeksHome or to any other third party.
What is stored on your computer
PiPGeek keeps one setting, pop out when I switch tabs, in your browser’s extension storage. None of it is transmitted anywhere, and removing the extension deletes it.
Permissions
- activeTab: lets PiPGeek work on the tab you are on, only at the moment you click its icon, press its shortcut or use its right-click item.
- scripting: runs the small piece of code that finds the video on that page and pops it out or puts it back.
- contextMenus: adds Pop out video to the right-click menu on videos.
- storage: remembers the pop out when I switch tabs setting.
- Optional site access (Chrome and Edge only): asked only if you tick Do this on every site in the settings, never at install.
