This policy covers the TabGeek browser extension, made by TechyGeeksHome.
What TabGeek collects
Nothing. TabGeek does not collect, store, sell or share any personal information. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.
How it works
- It checks once a minute for tabs you have not used for the time you chose, and asks the browser to put them to sleep.
- It reads each tab’s address only to leave sites on your never-sleep list awake, and to list sleeping tabs in its menu.
- If you turn on Tabs with typing that is not saved, it checks the page for unsaved form text just before the tab sleeps, inside your browser. Site access for this is asked for only when you turn it on.
- Nothing is sent to TechyGeeksHome or to any other third party.
What is stored on your computer
TabGeek keeps your settings, your never-sleep site list and the time you last used each tab in your browser’s extension storage. None of it is transmitted anywhere, and removing the extension deletes it.
Permissions
- tabs: sees each tab’s address so sites on your never-sleep list stay awake, and lists sleeping tabs in the menu.
- alarms: checks once a minute for tabs you have not used for your chosen time.
- storage: remembers your settings, site list and when you last used each tab.
- scripting: only for the optional unsaved typing check, run just before a tab sleeps.
- Optional site access: asked only if you turn on the unsaved typing option, never at install.
