This policy covers the Bluesky Saver browser extension, made by TechyGeeksHome.
What Bluesky Saver collects
Nothing. Bluesky Saver does not collect, store, sell or share any personal information. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.
How it works
- It does nothing in the background. It only acts when you click its icon on a Bluesky page.
- It reads the address of that page (which profile, post, feed or list) and asks Bluesky’s public API for the posts.
- It downloads the pictures and video pieces straight from Bluesky’s own servers and saves them to your computer as a ZIP file.
- If you turn on Original files (off by default), it asks the poster’s own Bluesky server for the exact uploaded file.
- Nothing is sent to TechyGeeksHome or to any other third party.
What is stored on your computer
Bluesky Saver saves only your settings and the current download list, in your browser’s local extension storage. They are never transmitted anywhere, and removing the extension deletes them.
Permissions
- downloads: saves the ZIP file, or a single video, to your computer.
- storage: remembers your settings.
- bsky.app: reads the address of the Bluesky page you clicked the icon on.
- public.api.bsky.app: Bluesky’s public API, which lists the posts.
- cdn.bsky.app, video.bsky.app and video.cdn.bsky.app: Bluesky’s picture and video servers, where the files are downloaded from.
