Description
Every Group Policy console that’s been in use for a few years accumulates the same clutter: GPOs nobody remembers creating, GPOs disabled “temporarily” and never turned back on, a WMI filter that got deleted so a policy silently stopped applying, security filtering scoped down to a group that no longer has anyone in it. GPO Health & Cleanup Report is a PowerShell tool that scans your domain and turns those problems into a single, clear, interactive HTML report.
What it checks: orphaned GPOs (zero links anywhere), GPOs disabled but still linked, empty GPOs with no configured settings, GPOs stale beyond your chosen threshold, broken WMI filter references, security filtering gaps (GPOs that currently apply to nobody), overlapping GPOs fighting over the same OU, and Enforced/Block Inheritance conflicts.
What you get: a 0-100 health score, a filterable and sortable findings table, and a full OU-by-OU drill-down showing every linked GPO in link order with its enabled/enforced status: all built into one self-contained HTML file with no internet connection or install needed to view it.
Requirements: a Windows machine with the GroupPolicy and ActiveDirectory PowerShell modules (RSAT) and PowerShell 5.1+. Doesn’t need to run on a domain controller. Read-only: it never unlinks, disables, or deletes anything.
Fully customisable: set your own or your client’s branding, stale-GPO threshold, and output location, all via command-line parameters. Full instructions included.
Works great alongside our AD Health & Security Audit tool: that one covers accounts, privileged groups, and password policy; this one goes deep on Group Policy. Same architecture, same report style, easy to run both for a client in one sitting.
Licence: for use by the purchasing individual or organisation, including running it for your own MSP clients. Not to be resold or redistributed as a standalone download. See the included LICENSE.txt for full terms.
