This policy covers the Clip Saver for TikTok browser extension, made by TechyGeeksHome.
What Clip Saver collects
Nothing. Clip Saver does not collect, store, sell or share any personal information. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.
How it works
- It only runs on TikTok. While a TikTok page is open, it keeps a copy of the post details TikTok sends to that page, so it is ready when you click its icon. This copy stays in that tab and is forgotten when the tab closes.
- When you click its icon, it scrolls the profile or reads the post you have open, then downloads the photos and videos from TikTok’s own servers.
- TikTok only serves its videos to its own pages, so the results tab asks the open TikTok tab to fetch each video and pass it back. The video goes straight from TikTok to your computer.
- All processing, including duplicate detection and building the ZIP file, happens on your own computer, inside your browser.
- Nothing is sent to TechyGeeksHome or to any other third party.
What is stored on your computer
Clip Saver saves your filter settings (minimum size, duplicate removal, video and CSV options) and, for up to a day, the list of posts from your most recent scan so the results tab can show them. This stays in your browser’s local extension storage and is never transmitted anywhere. Removing the extension deletes it.
Permissions
- scripting: to show the progress panel and read the profile or post you have open, when you click the icon.
- Access to tiktok.com and TikTok’s video and image servers: to read the page you have open and download its photos and videos.
- downloads: to save the ZIP file to your computer.
- storage and unlimitedStorage: to keep your settings and the current scan locally, including on very large profiles.
