Windows 7 is now a pretty old operating system and most restore media that people will have for their machines will be a few years old. This means that when a restore is done with these OEM restore disks there will be a huge amount of Windows Updates to carry out.
Well Microsoft have now created a solution for this.
There is now a single update that contains all the security and non-security fixes released since the release of Windows 7 SP1 that are suitable for general distribution, up through April 2016. Install this one update and then you only need new updates released after April 2016.
This is an excellent release from Microsoft and should solve the headache of having to install 200+ Windows updates after a computer restore.
INSTRUCTIONS
To install this update, you first need to install this pre-requisite update:
Once you have installed this, you can then download the larger all-in-one update package from Windows Update Catalog using the link below:
Then install this update and that’s it, all updates up to April 2016! Now just run Windows Update and there should now only be a few limited updates.

Both links above point to the same download. Otherwise, great article. Glad I now have an easier way to update an OEM load.
The two links appear to be the same above. But thanks for showing me a better solution than waiting all night for 200 updates to download and install.
