How To Cancel Ea Access Subscription On Xbox One
EA Access (EA’s subscription service for Xbox) was rebranded to EA Play in 2020, so if you’re looking for it under its original name today, that’s why you might not find it — the cancellation process below still applies under the new name.

How to Cancel

  1. Go to your Xbox subscriptions page at account.microsoft.com/services (or, from the Xbox console, Settings > Account > Subscriptions) and sign in with the Microsoft account the subscription is attached to.
  2. Find EA Play in your list of active subscriptions.
  3. Select it and choose to turn off recurring billing / cancel the subscription.
Cancelling stops future renewal charges, but you’ll typically keep access until the end of the period you’ve already paid for — check the confirmation screen for your exact access end date. If EA Play was bundled as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate rather than a standalone subscription, you’d need to manage the Game Pass Ultimate subscription itself instead, since EA Play access is included there rather than billed separately.

Confirming It Actually Cancelled

After cancelling, it’s worth checking back on the same subscriptions page a few minutes later to confirm the status has actually changed to “cancelled” or shows an end date rather than a next-renewal date — subscription cancellations occasionally don’t take on the first attempt if the page was mid-session or cached. If you cancelled via the console rather than the website, checking from account.microsoft.com/services afterward is a reliable second confirmation, since it reflects your account-wide subscription state rather than just what one specific console shows. If you’re cancelling because you’re switching platforms rather than dropping the service entirely, note that EA Play access and progress are generally tied to your EA Account rather than your Xbox subscription specifically — your EA Account itself doesn’t need cancelling separately, only the Microsoft-billed subscription that grants EA Play access on Xbox. If you also have EA Play through PC Game Pass or a separate Steam/EA app subscription, those are billed and managed completely independently and won’t be affected by cancelling the Xbox one.
