How to Cancel
- Go to your Xbox subscriptions page at account.microsoft.com/services (or, from the Xbox console, Settings > Account > Subscriptions) and sign in with the Microsoft account the subscription is attached to.
- Find EA Play in your list of active subscriptions.
- Select it and choose to turn off recurring billing / cancel the subscription.
Confirming It Actually Cancelled
After cancelling, it’s worth checking back on the same subscriptions page a few minutes later to confirm the status has actually changed to “cancelled” or shows an end date rather than a next-renewal date — subscription cancellations occasionally don’t take on the first attempt if the page was mid-session or cached. If you cancelled via the console rather than the website, checking from account.microsoft.com/services afterward is a reliable second confirmation, since it reflects your account-wide subscription state rather than just what one specific console shows. If you’re cancelling because you’re switching platforms rather than dropping the service entirely, note that EA Play access and progress are generally tied to your EA Account rather than your Xbox subscription specifically — your EA Account itself doesn’t need cancelling separately, only the Microsoft-billed subscription that grants EA Play access on Xbox. If you also have EA Play through PC Game Pass or a separate Steam/EA app subscription, those are billed and managed completely independently and won’t be affected by cancelling the Xbox one.Resources
