The Evolution of Gaming 1

Many people will still remember the delights of playing console games in the 1980s, such as the Atari console games that used to be so popular. Of course, as we moved into the 1990s, these consoles and games started to seem positively primitive with advancements during the 1990s enabling gamers to enjoy what seemed to be far more sophisticated games and consoles. This included gaming via consoles such as the Sega Master System II and the Commodore 64 Games System.

Computer gaming also became increasingly popular in the 1990s, with many people switching from console games to PC games thanks to the more sophisticated and exciting games that were brought out due to the technological advancements that were experienced. This is something that continued through the 2000s, particularly during the first few years when there seemed to be a spurt in popularity and sophistication when it came to gaming. Games such as Final Fantasy, God of War and Mass Effect had players glued to their screens for hours at a time.

Evolution through mobile gaming

Over the past decade or so, gaming has evolved even further. This is not just as a result of the advancements in quality and technology in terms of graphics and content but also the rocketing popularity of mobile devices. Mobile gaming has now helped to revolutionise the gaming industry and while many people still play on their high tech consoles and PCs, millions are also enjoying a wide range of gaming options using their smartphones and tablets.

Online gaming has enabled consumers to enjoy a wide range of gaming entertainment including online casino games to play while on the go and free cash without deposit. Sites such as Red8’s offer players a wide variety of gaming options ranging from online poker through to virtual slots machine games provided by many reputable online casinos. This has provided players with a convenient alternative to heading to a bricks and mortar casino or even playing from their PC, as Red8’s provide a safe and speedy way of enjoying these games on tablets and smartphones whilst allowing choice and bonuses.

Many mobile device owners also enjoy downloading a variety of simple games that can be played while on the go via sites such as iTunes or the App Store. Users of various platforms including Android and iOS are able to indulge in fun games such as Angry Birds and Bebbled, which have become extremely popular despite their simplicity compared to the more advanced PC and console games that are available today.
