Office Fashion: Casual Business Style for Corporate Workers

Putting on the proper outfit can boost your confidence and make you walk into the workplace with no concerns about your appearance. By definition, casual business wear is a style that is less formal than traditional office wear but has a business or professional look. It is hoped that the familiar style and principles of sophistication will persist even when wearing comfortable business attire. 

Ties are optional, and some business casual suits can be matched with nice pants. To create an ensemble that is safe in your old work environment, opt for cool pants like cotton, comfortable shoes such as loafers. And don’t forget to make sure everything is matched and cleaned. Here are some other attires and accessories you can wear in a corporate setting. 

Wristwatch 

A watch serves to pass the time and reflects your style and attitude as a person. You can tell by a person’s watch whether they are athletic, mature, or minimal, so think about what they have to say about you before buying them. You can go with a simple leather wristwatch for office wear, or you can go with a more sophisticated option. 

The type of wristwatch you wear to work is also influenced by the kind of work you do. For example, scientists and engineers might want to go with an Ingenieur wristwatch rather than a Rolex. Since they have models specifically designed for people in that area of work. While choosing a wristwatch for work, your working conditions should also be a factor. If you work in a factory setting or around lots of machinery and magnets, wearing a wristwatch might not be advised. But if you must wear one, avoid mechanical watches as they can easily be damaged by magnets. 

Blazers 

Blazers are a staple when it comes to business casual attire. They can be seen as a more relaxed form of a suit.  The jacket should also have a slim cut, a square cut at the shoulders, fabric that ends just above the back, and sleeves that end right in front of the hem of the shirt. Of course, you can choose from a variety of styles and materials. Choose a dark, neutral color such as navy blue. This casual business style will help you blend in after work as it can also be used as dinner outfits. If you are the type of person who loves to wear seasonal jackets, you can check for trendy blazer designs. 

Jackets are an essential part of your business wardrobe. Avoid gold buttons and use a darker color. Dark blue is the most classic color and is ideal for office wear. 

Long-Sleeved Shirts 

You want to wear a suitable shirt under your blazer. First, start with a solid color: white, blue, or light pink. Once convinced, you can test your fashion boundaries by exploring different patterns and vibrant colors. Oxford shirts are perfect for everyday business and can be worn comfortably by leaving the top button unbuttoned or wearing a more comfortable knitted tie. A plain white oxford shirt is ideal for casual business attire. 

Shirts with buttons and ties, often used synonymously, vary in structure and shape. For a more formal look, you’ll want a button-down shirt. This refers to a shirt in which the buttons hold the front in place. Button-down shirts are recommended for elegant and comfortable men’s clothing. It is more convenient, and there are more options. Oxford Fabrics are a great starting point for most outfits. 

Pants 

Pants fill the visual gap between shoes and shirts. Pants and jackets make up the bulk of business casual wear. When choosing trousers, the composition of the fabric is essential. Breathability, curtains, crease resistance, and ease of use all depend on the material. Cotton is inexpensive and widely available, but it does absorb moisture. For warm weather, choose linen, cotton, or lightweight denim. Cool climate options include wool, moleskin, or cotton. 

A classic pair of jeans is always welcome. You can go with dark colors for an authentic urban vibe. A light-colored shirt paired with jeans also works well. You should, however, avoid too brightly colored shirts and avoid wearing button-down shirts with white pants. Light-colored shirts are usually best suited for business casual attire. You can wear dark or navy blue dress pants with white or gray socks for a casual look. Your socks should match the overall color of your outfit. 

Shoes

The last part of your attire is the shoes. Shoes can make your entire business feel comfortable, so it is vital to choose wisely. When it comes to comfortable menswear, you can choose from a wide range of shoes. The footwear range ranges from sophisticated loafers and boots to more fashionable variations like the derby. Although sneakers are not generally regarded as work attire, some work settings wouldn’t mind. 

Sneakers look best in neutral colors such as white, black, brown, or gray. Sleek and comfortable sneakers should be “trendy” because they are both physically and aesthetically pleasing. Leather and suede shoes look great but are more expensive. Traditional leather shoes or boots look great while putting on a shirt and simple pants. 

A timeless Oxford classic is reliable and versatile. Derby is similar to Oxford, but there are still differences between the two. The difference from Oxford is that the laces are closed. Oxford has been viewed as a more conservative option, but Derby is more flexible than Oxford. Take another look at the culture in the workplace to choose the best kind of shoes for you.

It is considered proper for everyone in an office to follow the dress code to avoid penalties. If for some reason, you’re not sure about the appropriate dress code, you can visit the HR department to clear things up. Remember that your outfit should not be too revealing and should neither be too uptight as well. 

The whole outfit should be well-managed to create balance, which creates an image of your personality. Apart from that, make sure that your shoes are appropriate for the kind of work you’re doing. As a general rule of thumb, avoid sneakers unless your workplace approves of them.
