Gameplay Mechanics

World Building

Resource Management

Players are tasked with managing their virtual properties by collecting resources, building structures, and engaging in various economic activities. Resources are collected through in-game activities or purchased via the game’s marketplace, making economic strategy a crucial aspect of gameplay.

Bazaar

Purchasing items like jewels, cydroids or even civilians is a simple and straightforward process by using the Earth 2 Bazaar.

Graphics and User Interface

Visuals

The graphics in “Earth 2” are designed to create a realistic representation of the virtual world. While still evolving, the visuals offer a high degree of detail for terrain, structures, and environmental effects. The developers are continually working on improving the graphical fidelity to enhance the immersion.

With the developing in-game play, Earth 2 will eventually become a full 3D world to explore and allow users to become part of the Metaverse.

This video demo of what the 3D world will eventually look like in Earth 2 is absolutely incredible:

User Interface

The user interface (UI) is intuitive, with a focus on ease of navigation and accessibility. The dashboard provides players with quick access to essential features like land management, resource tracking, and raid configurations.

However, some users may find the wealth of options and menus overwhelming at first. It took me a while to get my head around it all, but there are some excellent YouTube videos out there and a lot of information from expert users.

Once you start to pick it up, it makes more and more sense and you will soon be an expert!

Economic Model

Currency and Transactions

“Earth 2” features its own in-game currency, E$ (Earth 2 Dollars), which is used for transactions within the game. Players can buy, sell, and trade land tiles and resources using E$. The economy is designed to mimic real-world financial systems, with fluctuations based on supply, demand, and player activity.

The only thing that has really frustrated me is the ability to get Essense which is what you really need to power your cydroids. Without powering your cydroids you can’t raid other players land, however, you need Essense to buy power for your cydroids and the only simple way you can get Essense is by converting Ether to Essense – this can be a lengthly and frustrating process.

It would be much better if you could just top up your E$ and buy Essense – there’s probably reason why you can’t do that though, I’m just bitter about having to wait to power all my cydroids!

Monetisation

The game monetises through the sale of virtual land, premium features, and in-game purchases. While this model allows for a diverse range of economic activities, it also means that players need to be mindful of their investments and expenditures.

It’s very simple to sell your land or resources in Earth 2, however are you going to get big profits, probably not just yet and you will more than likely have to invest heavily to make it worth while.

A lot of people are obviously using Earth 2 to try and eventually make a lot of money, I have no doubt that you can, however for me, that’s an eventual bonus if one day someone wants to offer me loads of money for my tiles full of Gold!

But right now, it’s a game and I enjoy playing it and slowly building up my portfolio of land and resources.

Community and Support

Player Community

The community around “Earth 2” is active and engaged, with forums, social media groups, and the likes of Discord servers and Reddit subs playing a significant role. The game’s developers actively participate in community discussions, providing updates and addressing concerns.

Pros and Cons

“Earth 2” offers a novel approach to virtual worlds and metaverse experiences, blending real-world elements with interactive gameplay. Its economic and social features provide a robust platform for players interested in virtual real estate and community-building.

While there are areas for improvement, particularly in graphics and user experience, the game presents an intriguing opportunity for those willing to navigate its complexities.
