If you are a Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 user then you may have noticed recently that after a batch of Windows Updates, you now have a Windows 10 icon in your system tray (bottom right). Clicking this icon brings up a small utility that enables you to be able to reserve your free copy of Windows 10 upon its release date of 29th July.

If you are running RT versions of Windows on your tablet then we are afraid that these are not included as part of the free upgrade process.

Once Windows 10 drops, you should get an email notification telling you that your update is available, then is really is as simple as running Windows Updates and installing your completely new operating system!

Well done to Microsoft for finally catching up with the times and supplying their operating system update for free (well almost…) – lets just hope Windows 10 lives up to the hype!
