Technology – it’s everywhere.

Unsurprisingly, technology has become a big part of the business world. From tiny start-ups to big corporations (think Apple and Microsoft), most businesses are now using technology in some shape or form.

10 years ago, this simply wasn’t the case. Sure, the majority of businesses had their own websites and would use emailing and other resources to communicate with customers, but it was on a much smaller scale.

Now, though, this has all changed. Tech is king – and there’s no sign of it slowing down.

So, if you’re eager to learn more, here are some exciting ways technology is changing the business world.

Invoicing and Payments

Thanks to technology, making and receiving payments as a business or entrepreneur has never been easier.

Businesses are no longer knocking on the doors of clients and asking them to pay overdue invoices. Instead, they’re using invoicing software. This way, they can instantly turn quotes into invoices and then ping their clients to let them know a payment is due – simple. This is great, as it means invoicing is no longer a tiresome or stressful process.

Moving forward, invoicing will continue to be entirely digital, and further advancements will emerge.

Remote Working – Say Bye-Bye to the Office!

For decades, people have complained about office work.

It’s exhausting. The daily commutes are too long. The desk chairs aren’t comfortable.

However, nothing was ever done about it. Then, out of the blue, 2020 came around.

The COVID-19 pandemic led to people having to work from their homes. Unsurprisingly, people loved it so much that it’s now turned into a permanent trend – and this is all thanks to technology!

Now, employees can comfortably work from home due to the tech devices and software that’s available to them. Laptops, smartphones, tablets, computers, file sharing apps – pretty much anything you could ever need is now available.

As the future unfolds, it seems highly likely that remote working will continue to grow in strength. After all, millennials and Gen Z really enjoy it and are searching for jobs that allow them to work from home rather than have to go into an office.

In fact, it may even reach a stage where the majority of businesses close down their offices to go fully remote. For now, though, it’s a matter of waiting to see what happens.

AI (Artificial Intelligence)

For the average person, AI is still a scary prospect.

Back in the 80s and 90s, people used to warn that robots would take over. Now, it’s kind of started to happen. However, there’s nothing to be scared of!

AI is great for businesses, as it means tiresome and tedious tasks no longer have to be completed by humans. This ranges from email marketing (which can now be done automatically) to online customer service conducted by chatbots.

Increased Collaboration

Collaboration is important across all industries, from healthcare to web development. It’s something that humans rightfully thrive on, as teamwork is usually the key behind all good inventions and ideas.

Of course, technology is making collaboration much easier. This is because employees can now use collaboration apps – such as Microsoft Teams – to create and share documents with each other. On top of this, they can hold virtual conferences and meetings if they want to make it feel like they’re in the same room together!
